A collection of thematic mapping on housing data, collected during Census 2001 is available in this Atlas.  A set of three maps presenting a comparison of Total, Rural and Urban data of housing are shown on one plate.  A brief annotation of each plate is also given in this Atlas on facing page. Digital cartographic techniques are used for presentation of data at state/ district level.  Atlas contains 50 plates which are mostly devoted on housing condition, amenities and assets available to the households in India.  In brief Atlas give a complete scenario of the development pattern in the country.

1872 - 2001 – A Historical Perspective

India Administrative Atlas 1872-2001 contains administrative division maps of India from 1872 to 2001 separately for each decade.  One can visualize building up of administrative boundaries of India during these census years with different stages of changes. This volume contains four parts. Six appendices are also given at the end of the atlas containing valuable information. Similarly, an equivalence table provides the historical background of administrative divisions during the different decades until the Census 2001.  One can know the constituents of a district during different decades beginning from 1872 to 2001 with the help of these tables. This atlas is of immense use for researchers, administrators,      social scientists and planners alike, rather it is a reference book in public domain.  It is a coloured Atlas in A-3 size.

                           Census Atlas of India: 2001 (National Volume)(Under Finalisation) 

The National Volume protrays various socio-culture and demographic features that have emerged from the 2001 Census data. These themes are presented under 11 sections, viz., General, Population Distribution and Growth, Marital Status and Fertility, Sex and Age Structure of Population, Literacy, Religion, Disability, Urbanization, Migration, Economic Activities of Population and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.  Data have been presented by choropleth and other cartographic techniques.  Different colour schemes have been used to make the maps attractive and highlight the various demographic aspects in spatio temporal terms.
