'***' - The final popualtion includes estimated population of
Mao Maram, Paomata and Purul subdivisions of Senapati district
of Manipur where census results were cancelled due to administrative
and technical reasons although a population census was carried
out in these sub-divisions as per schedule. The estimated population
of these three sub-divisions are: Mao Maram : 69,131, Paomata
: 27,065 and Purul : 30,912. More

Data' refers to the 1991 Census data and includes
projected population of Jammu & Kashmir
state where 1991 Census could not be conducted
due to disturbed condition prevailing there
at the time of the census.
